to schedule.
Chi Nei Tsang sessions are one hour. First
sessions are 75 minutes to provide enough time for you to fill
out an intake form and for us to discuss your situation and goals.
You are clothed throughout the session with
just your abdomen exposed. I have extra blankets to keep you warm
as needed. Lying on your back on the massage table with your knees
supported by a cushion and eyes closed, you bring your attention
to your breath. Breathing is the bridge of awareness of the conscious
and unconscious. Through it you expand your presence from the
inside out while I work from the outside in. Various simple meditation
practices such as bone breathing or the inner smile practice help
deepen your inner connection and relaxation. The work is gentle
and deep, energetic and grounding, encouraging awareness and release
on many levels of experience.
How many and how often should I have sessions?
CNT can provide immediate benefits especially during periods of
stress, cleansing or abdominal/organ related discomfort. Through
a series or on-going sessions, the work deepens. Breath and chi
flows more freely, tension patterns unwind and you gain familiarity
and confidence in the work. I often recommend a commitment of
three sessions to new clients. Beyond this, my clients have continued
with regular sessions or occasional drop-ins depending on their
situation and goals.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes without extra zippers
or pockets. During the session, you will just need to adjust your
shirt and slacks to allow work on your abdomen.
Can I eat beforehand?
It is best to not eat in the hour before a session. If you need
to, just keep it light and and let me know.
Is CNT ever painful?
Sharper pains, like electrical charges, sometimes emerge as stagnations
release. Clients often express that this is a "good kind
of pain." I take great care to not use force but to provide
the support and listening that allows your body to open at its
own pace and capacity. Sessions are generally very relaxing and
rejuvenating as stresses dissolve.
Are there any contraindications?
I provide an intake form for your health history and any medications
you are on so sessions can be tailored to your circumstances.
I feel comfortable working with a wide variety of symptoms and
conditions and welcome any questions or concerns you might have.
What is unique about your work?
I came to Chi Nei Tsang looking to release old scar adhesions
from two abdominal surgeries when I was in my teens. There was
a lot of numbness and pain locked in my belly that was affecting
my health on all levels. I have gained from the work, not only
more freedom of breath and movement throughout my body, but a
new experience and perspective on healing, emotional health and
connection to nature. My Chi Kung practice and Chi Nei Tsang work
have helped me grow into the understanding of our complete interrelationship
with the environment. The same transformational, alchemical, processes
at work in nature, are alive within us as well. I bring this understanding
and personal experience of the healing journey to all my sessions. |
